On the diagram the existing lines are shown light Green and the Trafford Centre line is shown purple. Definite stops are shown as filled rectangles whereas possible stops are shown unfilled.
See City Centre for a description of Victoria, Piccadilly, GMex and the lines between them; also City South from GMex to Cornbrook and Pomona.
Leaving Pomona the route continues straight ahead, where the Eccles line turns sharp right, and then descends to ground level. It will reuse a former dock railway segregated alignment, crossing under Trafford Road. This route is fenced off from the existing footpath. Wharfside * stop would be on this former railway land alongside the Manchester Ship Canal.
The route crosses Trafford Wharf Road to a reserved way behind the hotel and then turns onto a disused part of the former Trafford Park Road. After crossing Waters Reach most of the route will be alongside roads but segregated from road traffic. The Manchester United * stop would be here on land at Wharfside Way opposite M.U.F.C. coach Park.
Continuing along the north side of Wharfside Way (formerly Trafford Park Road) to the Imperial War Museum stop at Elevator Road. Further on the route crosses Village Circle and runs along the north side of Village Way turning into Third Avenue, where the Village stop will be. At the southern end of Third Avenue the route turns into Westinghouse Road.
Mosley Road stop will be on land at Westinghouse Road, west of junction with Mosley Road, Trafford Park. The route then continues along Westinghouse Road.
Parkway stop will be on land at Westinghouse Road and Parkway. The route then crosses the Bridgewater Canal.
Giants Field * stop will be on land adjacent to Costco car park north of Barton Dock Road, Urmston.
The terminal stop will be at the upper level of The Trafford Centre, Barton Dock Road, Urmston.
Stop names marked with an asterisk * are subject to further consultation.
GMPTE have obtained outline planning permission for the stops on this line from Trafford Council.
