Dublin – Luas extension

A public private partnership agreement has been signed by Ireland's Rail Procurement Agency (RPA) and the Citywest Luas consortium to build a 4.2km extension to Dublin's light rail network.

The consortium, comprising Davy Hickey Properties, Harcourt Developments and HSS, will provide EUR39m (GBP26m) for the development of the line linking the city centre with the City West business district.

Construction is due to begin in spring next year, with the line intended to carry 5m passengers a year from 2010.
