Algiers tramway opens

The new tramway in Algiers began operating on Sunday 8 May connecting the Bab Ezzouar area near the airport and Bordj al-Kiffan, a historic quarter frequented by tourists. This first operational section conists of 7.2 kilometers of track with 13 stops and twelve Alstom Citadis trams. It operates largely in the east of Algerian capital, the city’s most densely populated area.
