The Queen names Midland Metro tram

during a visit to Birmingham to open the the revamped New Street station Her Majesty wnt to the new Bull Street stop in the city centre where she named a tram after the late Councillor Angus Adams, the former chairman of Centro.

Cllr Adams was a popular member of Dudley Council and a key figure behind the GBP128m Midland Metro extension from Snow Hill station to New Street station, which is now nearing completion, before his sudden death in 2012.

The Queen was then given a tour of the vehicle where she met workers behind the Birmingham city centre Metro extension, and then sat in the driving seat herself for a look around the controls.
