LRTA AGM – Sheffield, UK, 3rd – 6th October 2025
The AGM will be held in the Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel on Saturday 4th October starting at 14:00 UK Time.
Reports and the accounts will be available on the Members’ Page of the Membership System Membermojo from 20th September. The following members of Council and positions are up for election: Secretary (currently Colin Brazier- Acting), plus three ordinary members (currently Roger Morris, James Willis and Prof Mike Gibson). Nominationas close 14:00 Saturday 2nd August 2025. Please note the address for submitting nomination has changed, see the revised AGM Notice Letter available on the Members’ Page for latest details.
Members wishing to submit resolutions to the AGM must to do so together with the required number of signatures (minimum 20) to the Acting Secretary by 14:00 on 2nd August 2025
Any member not able to attend may do so by Zoom, but will not be able to vote. Any member wishing to vote by proxy must submit the proxy form (available from 20th September on the Members’ Page of the membership system Membermojo – sign in required) as noted on the form by 14:00 on Thursday 2nd October 2025.
Attending the AGM
Members attending the AGM should make their own travel arrangements to the venue at the Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel, 119 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, S1 2JE, UK. AGM Weekend 3rd – 6th October 2025
Friday 3rd October
The weekend opens on the Friday night with a visit and reception to the South Yorkshire Transport Museum.

This is a volunteer-owned museum located in Rotherham which opened in 1995. The museum is home to around 50 vehicles including cars, buses and ‘Tram 460’, a 1926 Cravens. We will be given a guided tour of the museum followed by a buffet. Transport is included from Sheffield to the museum
and back again. Cost £30 – coach pick up from Mercure St Paul’s hotel – 6.30pm return to hotel 9.30pm.
Saturday 4th October
On Saturday morning, members will have an opportunity to ride the Supertram system in the morning.

Travel on the Sheffield tram system is free for holders of England Pensioners’ Bus Passes (09:30-23:00 weekdays and all day weekends).
AGM
The AGM commences at 14.00 in the Mercure Sheffield St. Paul’s Hotel. This is a five-minute walk from Sheffield station. Prior to the AGM, the usual soup and sandwich lunch will be provided. Cost £20 including Tea/Coffee from 13:00.
Following the formal proceedings it is planned to have a speaker from Supertram to update members on future plans for the system.
AGM Gala Dinner
This will be followed by the AGM dinner, also in the Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s. Hotel Cost £40 – 7.00 for 7.30pm.
Sunday 5th October
Sunday will begin with a visit to the National Tramway Museum in Crich – there will be a coach from central Sheffield to Crich. Entrance to the museum is free to members – one of the many LRTA member benefits.
Coach pickup 10.00am from Mercure St Paul’s hotel
Returning 3.30pm from Crich with a drop off at Derby Railway station (approx. 4:15). Return to hotel 5.30pm
To facilitate those wanting to return home on Sunday the coach will stop at Derby railway station before returning to Sheffield. Cost £18. (Any guests who are not LRTA, TMS or TLRS members will have to pay the standard entrance fee)
Monday 6th October
On Monday it was planned to have a visit to the Supertram depot by Nunnery Square tram stop, however, the operator is not able to accommodate on this occasion.

Accommodation
No hotel rooms have been booked as there are plenty of hotels in the city, so members are free to make their own arrangements.

All bookings must be received by 22nd September 2025. Please make allowance for postal times.
