Learn about the LUAS in Dublin, visit one of their Depots and ride the system.
Friday 17th May 2024 – Dublin from 11:00 hrs.
The next members’ day will be a chance to experience the LUAS system in Dublin on Friday 17th May 2024. It will include a visit to one of their depots with an update on their future plans followed by an opportunity to ride the system. This system has proved extremely popular and there are now some 9 segment trams on the Green (North-South) Line.
Members are asked to meet in Wynn’s Hotel from 11.00am where tea, coffee and biscuits will be served. Wynns Hotel is on Abbey Street, close to the junction with O’Connell Street not far from the bridge over the River Liffey .
At 12.30pm Members will be issuesd with a Day Ticket and we will travel by tram to the depot for a tour and outline of the future plans for the LUAS. Members will then be free to ride the system. Ride the Green line from Broombridge to Brides Glen or visit Tallaght or Saggart at the west end of the Red Line.
Any member staying overnight on Friday is welcome to join us for the Association Officers’ Conference on the Saturday where we will be discussing our plans for the General Election Campaign. We will need as many mambers a possible to lobby candidates in key seats where new tram systems or lines are being proposed.
For Members staying Friday Night we have arranged and Evening Event starting at 18:00 where there will be a private dinner and a selection of videos of the LUAS in Dublin and Irish Railways.
Costs of the Day
The cost of the Members’ Day will be £15 to include the Tea/Coffe & Biscuits and the Day Ticket for the LUAS.
The cost of the Evening Event will be £50, to include the cost of the meal in a the private room and the video presentation. Drinks are not included.

These costs do not include travel to and from Dublin, hotel accommodation or insurance which are the responsibility of individual members. Cancellations after 10th May are not refundable.
