Jane Cole

The LRTA is delighted that in the recent new years honours list, Jane Cole Chief Executive of Blackpool Transport was awarded an OBE for her services to transport. A former President of the LRTA Jane led Blackpool transport through the tram extension to Blackpool North Station as well as the ongoing work on TramTown developing the old Rigby Road depot as a visitor attraction for the Blackpool heritage fleet.

At the recent Light Rail Awards, Blackpool Transport was highly commended for its improved customer service. Commenting on the Award LRTA Chair Paul Rowen said: ” I’m delighted for Jane, as CEO of Blackpool transport she has led the renaissence of Blackpools tramway and has been a scion of the Light Rail industry. With Jane’s impending retirement in May this is a fitting honour and so well deserved.”
