TramForward congratulates Nottingham Trams on achieving international standard

TramForward congratulates Nottingham Trams Limited on securing ISO 55001:2014 (Assets) certification, the first UK light rail system to receive this prestigious award, which comes as a result of a two-year investment programme

ISO 55001 specifies requirements for an asset management system within the context of the organisation and was published for the first time in January 2014. The standard recognises the successful management of rolling stock, infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Supporting continual improvement, the standard puts in place structured and efficient management of the risks associated with operation and maintenance. As well as the care of tram equipment, it also covers the management of many other aspects of the network, including lineside vegetation, drains, buildings and car parks.

Paul Rowen, Chair of the Light Rail Transit Association, said “This achievement demonstrates the commitment of Nottingham Trams to best practice in managing the network and its assets. This will be reflected in an ongoing efficient and reliable transport service for the people of Nottingham.”
